IWCF Level 3 Drilling Well Control (equivalent to old Driller Level)

This course is offered for:

  • Surface BOP Stack

  • Combined Surface and Subsea BOP Stack

  • This course is for any role expected to shut the well in
  • Participants to achieve understanding and training on how to analyze drilling parameters & data, identify the problems, apply correct preventive measures or respond to kick warning signs and indicators

IWCF Level 4 Drilling Well Control (equivalent to old Supervisor Level)

This course is offered for:

  • Surface BOP Stack

  • Combined Surface and Subsea BOP Stack

  • This course is for on-site leadership (Well site supervisor, Tool pusher, Rig manager, OIM), and office-based positions (Superintendent, Engineers)
  • Participants to achieve understanding and training on how to manage different aspects of an effective well control program, barriers planning and assurance, monitoring, detection and ability to analyze the warning signs and respond accordingly to the well control problems such as a kick with proper kill method to bring the well to normal condition

Duration

Course program is run for 5 days which includes minimum 32 hours training and examination day

Assessment and Certification

  • Course assessment includes two written tests (Equipment, Principles and Procedures) and a practical simulator assessment
  • To pass the tests and receive a certificate, candidates must achieve a minimum mark of 70% in each of written test and practical assessment

Program Delivery

Program is designed to provide participants an in-depth learning of the effective well control elements: prevention, detection and correct response including well shut-in and kill procedures

Course materials are prepared with in-depth graphical representation of the fluid dynamics and kick mechanics to enhance understanding and learning objective of the course

Facilitated by the instructor, course is delivered by presentation, videos, interactive discussion, in class problem solving and homework. During this course participants will learn well control procedures and receive role – based training on several well control scenarios on the simulator
